Circuit breakers are designed to protect the appliances in your home or building from power overloads caused by sudden spikes in electrical energy. Without circuit breakers your microwave, dryer, and other appliances could overload and easily overheat or catch on fire. They prevent fire by tripping or breaking the electrical connection when excessed load is sensed.
